LA Times Article Reveals Mothers Worried Their Children are Financially Unprepared

A recent article written by the Los Angeles Times reveals that almost 50 percent of U.S. mothers believe that their children are not financially prepared to get a job, while one-third of them fear that their children aren’t ready to live on their own. Another 44 percent aren’t confident that their kids can pay for college.

Texas Credit Union League (TCUL) officials on Monday designated Shared Resources Credit Union of Pasadena as a "Juntos Avanzamos" credit union and presented a Juntos flag to fly proudly, as a symbol to the local Hispanic community that the credit union has the capacity, commitment, and compassion to serve their financial needs.

Women have made great strides in breaking the male-dominated barrier in the workplace, and while this doesn’t ring true for all industries, it certainly does in the credit union world. Fifty-seven percent of credit union CEOs are female. However, as credit union assets go higher, so do the number of men who occupy the seat of CEO at those credit unions.
